Permanent Hair ReductionPermanent hair reduction can be achieved with the use of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy. This occurs through selective photothermolysis. During this process, lasers cause localised damage to the hair follicle by selectively heating target areas of colour, specifically areas that cause hair growth without causing trauma to surrounding tissue. Lasers send light through the skin which is then -absorbed by the hair follicle. Once light hits the follicle of the skin it prevents the hair from growing. In time the hair will naturally fall out. Given that the laser is attracted to colour only darker hairs respond. To achieve optimum results approximately 4-6 treatments are required at 4 week intervals.
